RULES AT THE BOTTOM
Looking for a game?
We're putting together a list of 12U teams looking for fall scrimmages from mid-September through early October.
Our goal is simple:
Good competition
More game reps
Flexible scheduling
If we have an opening, we'll reach out. If we don't, we'll do our best to connect you with another coach on our scrimmage list that's close to your team's age and competition level.
No tournaments. No championships. Just baseball.
Midwest Saints Scrimmage
Format
6 innings or 1 hour 45 minutes, unless both coaches agree otherwise before the game begins.
Teams
A coin flip will determine the home and visiting team.
The winning coach may choose to bat first or take the field.
Lineup
Bat the entire lineup.
Free defensive substitutions are permitted.
Pitching
Pitch counts should follow each organization's normal guidelines.
Development
Coaches may mutually agree to repeat innings, create situational baseball, or make other developmental adjustments to provide additional player reps.
Game scores are unofficial and intended for player development rather than standings or championships.
Equipment
The home team provides game balls unless otherwise agreed upon.
Officiating
No umpires are required.
Coaches may officiate together or use a mutually agreed-upon volunteer.
If coaches serving as umpires cannot reach an agreement on a significant call after a brief discussion, a coin flip may be used to settle the decision so play can continue.
Sportsmanship
Players, coaches, parents, and spectators are expected to display respect, good sportsmanship, and professionalism at all times.
I think these headings are simple and fit the old-school baseball feel:
